We are not here to give you a history lesson, but rather to hit on the highlights of making a trip to Barcelona with all of its historical value. However it will take more than one trip to see everything that this has to offer. With all of the museums, beaches, churches, historical sites and just beautiful skylines you will never be bored. The first place you should head to is the Picasso Museum. The different fazes of Picasso are all shared between five different medieval palaces. The cities in this tour include Malaga, Paris, Moscow and Barcelona all of which were called home by Picasso at some point. Due to its low cost and long visiting hours it makes a great bargain as very easily accessible through public transportation since it is located in Cuitat Vella Parc. Using the Catalunya Square you will be able to find the Christopher Columbus Monument which you will also be able to see the port from. If you head north towards the Olympic Park you will be able to see the Cuitadella Park. You will now be able to see the Arch De Triumph and much of the living history of the city of Barcelona.
Whether you are an avid or just a curious soccer fan do not forget to check out the Barcelona soccer team while you are there. Usually the soccer seasons runs from September through May. As always there will be many exciting matches to take in, so if you wan to see one, get your tickets early and be sure to plan your vacation around it.

Seafood is a speciality of the area, not surprising given its location, and the seafood stew known as zarzuela is a regional favourite you should try to sample. If you don't want a full meal, tapas bars can provide tasty snacks or traditional finger food for a very reasonable price.

Don't be shy about taking lots of pictures when you visit Barcelona, Spain so you can send them to your friends and make them all jealous! When you get home you can organize your photos in various scrapbooks to remember all your great memories. Add a map to your scrapbook so you can remember what part of town you were in when you took different shots. Before you can make your memories you must have somewhere to begin.

If the weather is great, then walk down Las Ramblas to admire all the beautiful flowers and exotic birds. You can also head north in the city to the lovely Park Guell to see more of Gaudi's art. You can start a sightseeing tour at Park Guell and work your way down the city all the way to the Olympic Stadium and the Port. Check out Camp Nou, which is home to Barcelona's famed football team, commonly referred to as "Barca."
Leave Barcelona if you want to explore other parts of Catalunya for a short day trip or even for a few nights' stay. You can visit other coastal towns or travel inland. Costa Brava has many delightful places to stop so drive up and down this coast for a day or two to take it all in.
