Swimming With The Sharks - Tips For Safe Shark Diving

May 4th, 2009

In some far off exotic, crystal clear, ocean your name is being called. Come for an exciting, adventurous dive! It's the kind of vacation most are too scared to dare.
I'm talking about a shark dive. It may sound outrageous and frightening at first, but there's a lot you can do to ensure a safe dive.
First, a scheduled shark dive will always be with a trained and qualified crew. They will operate a boat with the appropriate equipment and facilities.
But don't just select a company at random. Be sure you do your research first.
Things to consider...
1. How long has the company been around? Has the company been in business only a few months, a few years or more? Experience tells you that the company probably has a plan in place for emergencies.
2. What's the company's reputation? Google works wonders for this. Do they have problems with keeping appointments? Do they have a good safety track record?
3. Where do they operate and are they close to help? Obviously if you're on vacation you'll probably want to go someplace you'll enjoy. You not only need to make sure they can operate near there, but that they also have a route to help if something should happen.
4. Is the crew qualified? Do they have solid experience? Are they medically trained? Do they have qualified dive masters on board? Are they properly licensed? Do they carry liability insurance or any other kind of bonding that may be required in their area?
5. What kind of equipment do they operate? Most will operate a boat and a shark cage. How big is the cage and how current old is it? What kind of amenities do they offer on board the boat? Do they offer enough wet suits to comfortably fit your party?
6. What kind of photography do they allow? Some companies will handle photography for you, others will have a place where you can take some yourself. Make sure this matches your style. If you'll be going in the water you'll not only want an underwater camera but you'll probably want to bring a friend that can sit above and take pictures from the surface too. Sharks tend to be surface feeders so you'll get a lot of good photos from above.
7. What are their rates? Are their rates affordable and competitive? I've seen prices vary from a few hundred a day to a few thousand a day depending on the scale and quality of the encounter.
Then...
They'll know where to go and how to get the sharks attention. When you get there make sure you follow any instructions you're given. Keep the weather in mind too, sudden shifts in the weather can make diving hazardous and may preclude you from being able to go on your scheduled day.
Most places will run thru a basic training program with you if you're planning to dive. This will cover how the breathing apparatus works and some basic information about shark behavior. Some places may require you be a qualified scuba diver, so be sure to ask for that ahead of time and assure that you meet the qualifications as necessary.
Once you do go underwater you'll be in for an experience few will ever experience. But exercise some common sense too. Don't poke or grab approaching sharks. Once the shark is swimming beside the cage you can sometimes reach out and pet it, but be careful and keep your hands and feet inside the cage whenever you're uncertain.
But most of all... have fun! Once you get relaxed you'll begin having a lot more fun.

Swimming With Dolphins

May 4th, 2009

Ever since I can remember, my love affair with dolphins has always been a restless force inside of me. As a child I was besotted with the intelligence and charm of "Flipper" in the TV series of the same name. And so, many years later, as an adult, having the opportunity to interact with these creatures one on one was indeed a dream come true.

Quite rightly, dolphins are vigorously protected by many laws which makes swimming with them in the wild an illegal activity. However, thanks to their conservation and education programmes throughout the world, Sea World has been granted special approval by USA government to give visitors to it's parks a once in a lifetime opportunity to play with dolphins "up close and personal".

One of the very best of these facilities is Discovery Cove, Florida. Discovery Cove is a sister park to Sea World, and they are in fact located just across the road from one another. However, Discovery Cove is an theme park like no other.

With daily admittance numbers strictly monitored, you will have to book well in advance, because your day at Discovery Cove is an adventure from beginning to end.

Once inside the park, you will be awed by the sheer scale and beauty of your surroundings.

Following a brief orientation, and a complimentary photograph, you are supplied with wet suits, snorkels and masks. Once kitted out, the day is yours to do with as you please.

You can swim with sting rays and other tropical fish, glide safely alongside real sharks, feed the exotic birds housed in a stunning free flight aviary, or simply relax and enjoy the Florida sunshine on pristine sandy beaches.

A tasty lunch is also included in your admission fee, and there is a great selection to choose from, including vegetarian options.

But without doubt, the highlight of your day will be the dolphin swim itself. For me, after dreaming of this event for so many years, I was almost breathless with anticipation, and I am delighted to report that I was not disappointed in any way.

My time spent, swimming and playing with my designated dolphin, named "Star" was the most magical experience of my life. I was truly amazed at the connection we had, and once you have looked close into a dolphin's eyes and witnessed for yourself the intelligence, unique personality and endless sense of fun, your life will never be the same again.

Almost moved to tears by the sheer wonder of the experience, I have been drawn back to relive the experience on subsequent trips to Florida, and each time has been even more magical.

Although Discovery Cove is not suited to everyone's pocket, if you want a truly life changing experience, I cannot recommend this adventure enough.

Surviving Your Next Family Vacation

May 4th, 2009

With a little bit of preparation and an open mind, you can travel with your family this summer-and survive to do it again. Here are a few helpful hints to consider before hitting the road:

• Survive the drive. Take time to plot out a trip that includes preplanned rest stops, a cooler of refreshments (to avoid high-priced rest stop and fast food prices), music and books on tape and lots of activities for the kids in the back.

• It's in the bag. To eliminate frayed nerves on your journey, pack a travel knapsack for your kids. Make sure you have a separate bag for each child to avoid arguments. Some suggestions for items to include are: spiral notebook, colored pencils, washable markers, storybooks, activity books, magnetic games, card games, travel-size board games, a portable DVD player, handheld electronic games, sticker books, invisible ink books, small cars, small dolls or action figures, blunt scissors, puzzles, pipe cleaners and a tape or CD player with headphones.

• Camping with kids. To help ensure that your family has a safe, enjoyable excursion to the lake, campsite or other outdoor location: Teach young children to stay within eyesight, and older children within earshot. Children over the age of 4 can carry a simple survival kit or at least a whistle around their neck to call for help when lost. Provide each child with a flashlight. Bring along a game you all like to play at home. Playing it outdoors with a lantern or flashlights will add to the fun. And finally, teach your kids to treat the outdoors kindly. Make sure all waste is disposed of properly when camping or hiking along the trails.

Fun family film

Two people who could probably use some of these tips are Tom and Kate Baker (Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt), the parents in the hilarious sequel "Cheaper By The Dozen 2," available on DVD from Fox Home Entertainment. In this super-sized family comedy, the Bakers bring their clan together for a memorable summer getaway. But their dream vacation turns into an outrageous competition with the overachieving, overzealous family of Tom's long-time rival, Jimmy Murtaugh (Eugene Levy).

The DVD includes a "Camp Chaos" featurette, "A Comedic Trio" featurette, commentary by the film's director and more.

May 4th, 2009

You might find that a surprise vacation is more exciting. Cheap holidays anywhere might include last minute deals to Marbella, Puerto Rico or even San Pedro. The thing to do in Belize is to explore the underwater environment. The barrier reef is somewhere to see colorful fish, exotic fish and a reef you have never seen anywhere else. You might see a manatees or even the almost extinct American marine crocodile and the many marine turtles. People love to visit the barrier reef and if you have an underwater camera, you are going have memories of this experience that few people have the opportunity to have in their travel collection.
You might plan your surprise cheap holidays to Marbella for some fun and beautiful beaches. They have resorts, hotels and apartments for everyone to enjoy. The beaches are set on the Mediterranean Sea where the waters are warm and inviting. Marbella has some exciting nightlife, fantastic shopping and many art exhibits that will keep the family busy. You will find some live entertainment clubs, dance clubs and the casinos for some more excitement. They have pool tables and something you may never have heard of called snooker, which is another form of pool.
If you are taking the kids, you need to go to Funny Beach. It is a playground for kids with rides and some go-karts for the older kids and adults. The beach also has a bar for some refreshments. Then you have the game of golf at Los Naranjos Golf courses and Artola Golf. These courses are said to be very well groomed and exciting to play because of the terrain around the area. If you are looking for a romantic walk during the evening hours, Casco Antiquo has cobblestone streets that are winding and narrow.
Cheap holidays to Puerto Rico are another exciting trip. You will find casinos, excellent dining and discos for a night of dancing. You will see ceremonial parks, plantations, old colonial churches and years of history. You can take scheduled tours or just do your own tour. You might even enjoy the museums and the Aracibo Observatory up in the mountains. This by means is the most extraordinary thing to see. They have a dish pointed towards the sky that is as big as a dozen football fields put together. This is one place you will want to spend the day seeing.

Super Yacht Show In Monaco 2007 Carbon Neutral

May 4th, 2009

The superyacht industry has blossomed over the last ten years, with multi millionaires and billionaires buying yachts in the tens of millions of Euros price range - and when it comes to some billionaires they seem intent on buying a fleet that would put some small countries navies to shame.
Despite being the second smallest country in the world Monaco has established herself as the natural European home for many of the world's wealthiest men and women due to her tax haven status, with many more visiting on holiday while cruising the Mediterranean for the Monte Carlo casino - and Monaco has managed to stay as a top destination by cleverly spotting and exploiting trends ahead of her competitiors.
The Monaco Yacht Show is part of the attraction for the super-rich, and has firmly established itself as the leading super yacht show in the world over the last fifteen years. For Monaco itself the Yacht Show is second only to the Monaco Grand Prix for visitor numbers. Combined with the Hotel de Paris and other Monaco hotels the principality has successfully secured her position as a natural environment for the wealthy to live or visit.
Monaco is showing that cuts in carbon emissions and other greenhouse gases are possible in a land of plenty, and the Monaco Yacht Show has successfully achieved carbon neutral status for the 2005 and 2006 events, with plans to repeat this for 2007, establishing itself on the map of Monte Carlo as an environmentally friendly event.
To attain carbon neutral status last year, the organisers sponsored various projects in Europe and further afield to offset carbon emissions generated by the show.
The show paid for wind turbines In New Zealand, generating enough electricity for 45,000 homes and in Brittany France paid for a heath to be planted with chesnut and oak trees to protect water catchments and provide a recreational area, while in the USA paid for a methane capture system, reducing the amounts being emitted by some 95 per cent.
Monaco Casino
The leadership for the move to a greener Monaco has come from Sovereign Prince Albert, who has been successfully campaigning among world leaders since his inauguration two years ago to move the environment up the political agenda, and it has brought the issue to the fore at home.
Prince Albert signed Monaco up for the Kyoto Protocol shortly after becoming Sovereign, and a few months later left behind the comfort and glamour of his palace and the poker tables of Casino Square for the wilds of Antartica to see for himself the damage being caused to the glaciers because of global warming.
Upon his return he set up a foundation with his own money to study the impact of rising sea levels, and since then has been active in the attempts to publicise the need to cut CO2 emissions in the industrialised world.
In recent months he has met both Prince Charles and President Chirac of France to discuss global warming. Although he spent some time in the US in his early years and speaks English fluently, he hasn't had to learn Italian and can converse with leaders the world over without the need for a translator.
Close to the Fontvieille harbour where the yacht show takes place, a new island is to be built, and the bidders have been told that a successful application must be environmentally friendly, and some proposals indicate that the island will be a floating one to avoid any disruption or damage to marine life.
With real estate in Monte Carlo the highest priced in Europe, the new apartment buildings will be welcomed by the property sector as there is a very real shortage of property for new residents, forcing prices even higher. One bedroom apartments are currently exchanging owners at over a million Euros.
The environmentally friendly island will also include new Monaco hotels, a university and possibly a museum, with the winning bidder due to be announced towards the end of the year.

Super-inclusive Vacation Packages: Simplifying Your Planning

May 4th, 2009

Are you interested in taking a trip within the next year? Whether you are interested in taking a vacation, a romantic getaway, or a honeymoon, it is advised that you start making your vacation reservations as soon as possible. This is particularly important if you are interested in visiting an area such as the Caribbean Islands, like Jamaica, as they are considered popular vacation destinations.
As important as it is to make your vacation reservations in advance, there are many vacationers who put off the process as long as possible. While there are a number of different reasons for this, many dislike the hassle that is often associated with planning a trip. Yes, it can be time consuming, stressful, and frustrating to plan a vacation, but it doesn't have to be. In fact, vacations are associated with fun and excitement and there is no reason why the planning of your vacation shouldn't be the same way.
If you would like to plan your next trip, whether that trip be to Jamaica, the Bahamas, or another popular vacation destination, there are multiple steps that you can take to simply the planning process. One of those steps involves carefully choosing how you book your travel arrangements. Even if this is the first trip that you have taken out of the country, you likely already know that you have a number of different options.
One of your options, when it comes to booking a trip, is making your travel arrangements independently. While this is more than doable, you will likely find this to be the most time consuming process. Making your airline reservations first, your overnight accommodation reservations next, followed by all other additional reservations can be an extremely time consuming process. However, if you would like to save time and possibly money, you may want to examine vacation packages. Vacation packages enable you to make multiple travel arrangements all at once, in the form of a vacation package.
Vacation packages, saved time and saved money; they sound nice don't they? What is even more amazing about vacation packages is that they come in a number of different formats. For instance, it is possible to find standard vacation packages, all-inclusive vacation packages, as well as super-inclusive vacation packages. In terms of just saving time, any vacation package type will do, but it is advised that you examine or place most of your focus on super-inclusive vacation packages. Super-inclusive vacation packages come highly rated and recommended by vacationers who have purchased them in the past.
Super-inclusive vacation packages, as you can likely gather from the name, are vacation packages that are large or super in size. Often times, the only difference between all-inclusive vacation packages and super-inclusive vacation packages is the accommodations and amenities that are included. For instance, an all-inclusive vacation package may include airline reservations, overnight accommodations, such as a vacation resort, as well as food and drinks at that resort. As for super-inclusive vacation packages, they often include more than just overnight accommodation reservations, airline reservations, and food and drinks. Many super-inclusive vacation packages include entertainment activities, like a concert or a round of golf, as well as other onsite services, such as childcare or laundry.
As previously mentioned, super-inclusive vacation packages are most well-known for their time saving abilities. This is especially apparent when you examine all that super-inclusive vacation packages include. When you purchase a super-inclusive vacation package, your airline reservations and overnight accommodation reservations are automatically booked and your meals are all taken care of. The same can be said for any entertainment activities that are included in your vacation package. The ability to not only make your vacation reservations, but also have your vacation activities all planned out for you can save you a considerable amount of time, as well as stress.
If you would like to reduce the amount of time and stress that it can take to plan a trip, you will want to take the time to seriously examine super-inclusive vacation packages. When purchasing a super-inclusive vacation package for you and the rest of your traveling party, no matter how large or small it is, it is important that you do business with a company that is reputable, as well as well-known for their ability to delivery what they promise. For that reason, you will want to examine Superclubs.com and all the vacation packages that they have to offer.

Super-inclusive Caribbean Vacation Packages: Helping You Save Money

May 4th, 2009

Are you interested in traveling to the Caribbean? Whether you are looking to take a vacation, a romantic getaway, or a honeymoon, the Caribbean may be the perfect destination for your trip. Once you decide that the Caribbean is where you would like to visit, you will need to start making your travel arrangements, particularly as soon as possible. When it comes to doing so, you should know that you have a number of different options.
Now that you know that you have a number of different options, when it comes to booking your Caribbean travel arrangements, it is important that you take the time to familiarize yourself with those options. Two popular booking methods are those of making your travel arrangements independently or booking them in the form of a vacation package. If you are looking to save time and money, a Caribbean vacation package may be in your best interest. Speaking of vacation packages, it is also important to mention that vacation packages come in a number of different formats. Vacation packages typically come in three different categories; standard, all-inclusive, and super-inclusive.
As previously stated, vacation packages can help to save you a considerable amount of time and money. Although this is true with any type of vacation package, you may want to take the time to specifically examine super-inclusive Caribbean vacation packages. Super-inclusive vacation packages are vacation packages that typically include airline reservations, overnight accommodations, food and drinks, entertainment, and additional onsite resort services, such as childcare or laundry services. Compared to standard Caribbean vacation packages or even all-inclusive vacation package, super-inclusive vacation packages tend to give you "more bang for your buck."
As nice as it is to hear that super-inclusive Caribbean vacation packages can save you a considerable amount of money, you may be wondering just how so. What many individuals do not realize is that they are often rewarded for making all of their travel arrangements at once. This reward typically comes in the form of a price discount. That is why many individuals are able to save themselves a considerable amount of money on their next Caribbean vacation package, by making their travel arrangements in the form of super-inclusive vacation packages.
Although it is more than possible to save money by booking your next Caribbean travel arrangements in the form of a super-inclusive vacation package, you need to proceed with caution. Perform a standard internet search with the phrases "Caribbean vacation packages," "Caribbean vacations," or "Caribbean super-inclusive vacations," and you will find a number of different results. Unfortunately, the travel companies that you come across do not all offer the same super-inclusive vacation packages or for the same fees. If you are not careful with who you do business with, you may not end up saving money with the purchase of a super-inclusive vacation package, but you may end up spending more.
Since it is difficult, if not impossible, to determine if you are being overcharged for a Caribbean super-inclusive vacation package, may want to do a little bit of research. That research can involve dissecting your vacation package and all of its features. You will want to then research, particularly by way of the internet, the cost of each of those features and services. Perhaps, this is the most easiest with your airfare and the cost of a resort stay. With that in mind, you should easily be able to estimate the cost of your food, drinks, and entertainment, like a game of golf. Comparing the two is a great way to determine if the Caribbean super-inclusive vacation package you are interested in buying is really in your best interest.
Although the above mentioned research and comparisons are a great way to examine if you are getting a good deal, with the purchase of a super-inclusive Caribbean vacation package, there is a much easier alternative. That alternative involves carefully choosing who you do business with. By doing business with a reputable travel company that deals exclusively with all-inclusive vacations and super-inclusive vacations, such as Superclubs.com, you are more likely to see success, as well as "true," deals and discounts.

Super-Inclusive Vacation Packages: What Are They And Should You Buy Them?

May 4th, 2009

Are you interested in taking a vacation in the near future? If you are, there is a good chance that you are interested in visiting a popular vacation destination, like the Caribbean. One of the many benefits to vacationing in popular vacation destinations is that many allow you to plan and schedule all-inclusive vacations. All-inclusive vacations are vacations in which your hotel or resort reservations, your airline reservations, and your food and drinks are all included in the cost of your vacation package.
While all-inclusive vacation packages sound appealing, you should know that you have a number of different options. In recent years, many popular vacation resorts, namely those in the Caribbean, have started rolling out vacation packages that are commonly referred to as super-inclusive vacation packages. Super-inclusive vacation packages, like standard vacation packages and all-inclusive vacation packages, come in a number of different formats. Despite the possibility of a variance, you may find that booking your next vacation in the form of a super-inclusive vacation package can save you a considerable amount of time and possibly even money.
Although it is nice to hear that super-inclusive vacations may be able to save you a considerable amount of time and money, that isn't always enough. If you have never heard of a super-inclusive vacation package before, you may be wondering more about them, like what these popular vacation packages include. If that is the case, you will want to continue reading on.
In addition to your food, drinks, resort reservations, and airline reservations, most super-inclusive vacations include entertainment. This entertainment comes in a number of different formats. For starters, it is possible to find a number of super-inclusive vacation packages that give you access to fun and exciting land sports and water sports. For instance, the purchase of a super-inclusive vacation may gain you admittance into golf courses, tennis courts, and outdoor fitness centers. As for water sports, it is common to find super-inclusive vacation packages that include scuba diving or snorkeling tours, as well as lessons, boating, and much more.
In keeping with entertainment, it is also possible to find super-inclusive vacation packages that give you access to indoor fun and excitement; indoor fun that is often right on the grounds of the resort. This is most commonly seen with indoor fitness centers, indoor swimming pools, indoor hot tubs, as well as indoor arcades or game rooms. In all honesty, the super-inclusive indoor entertainment activities that you have to chose from will likely depend on the vacation resort in question and all that it has to offer.
You will also find that all super-inclusive vacation packages should include tips and gratuities. That is due to the fact that super-inclusive vacations are designed to promote ease of vacationing. When on a super-inclusive vacation, you will find that most of your food and drinks are included in the cost of your vacation package. This means that you shouldn't have to worry about carry around large amounts of money with you. The fact that tips and gratuities are included in the cost of a super-inclusive vacation means that you may not even have to carry a wallet around with you half the time!
Most super-inclusive vacation packages also give you access to an unlimited number of onsite resort amenities. These amenities will likely vary depending on the vacation resort in which you chose to stay at. Despite the possibility of a small variance, you will likely find that you gain access to laundry and dry cleaning services, airport transfers, satellite television in your rooms, and much more. When examining the resort amenities that are included with your super-inclusive vacation package, it is important that you give them a good look, as they may have a significant impact on your vacation and your satisfaction level.
If you liked what you read above, you may want to the time to further examine super-inclusive vacations. If you would like to buy a super-inclusive vacation package for the Caribbean, you are urged to examine Superclubs.com. Superclubs.com is well-known for their large selection of all-inclusive vacation packages, as well as super-inclusive vacation packages at popular vacation resorts, such as Breezes, Starfish, and Grand Lido.
